From The Studio To The Stage
Whether you're a solo artist or in a band, my MIXING and MASTERING service will help you bring your music to new levels of care and accuracy.
I've practically spent my entire life in recording studios. In the mid-1950s, my father, John Vidale, established his own professional recording studios in Adelaide. He began with a basic studio and later expanded to "Visound Recording Studios", until 1967.
After our family relocated to Sydney, he founded "United Sound Studios" with Ron Purvis. He sold his share of the studio in 1969 and in 1970 founded "Clover Sound And Music Services", with Hertz Walpole Advertising as the major studio client.I began working there in 1972, primarily on tape dubs and radio jingle recordings. I started work there, in 1972 doing tape dubs and very many radio jingle recording sessions.
In late 1973, I moved to EMI Sydney Studios working in Cassette
Mastering and throughout 1974 worked in Vinyl Disc Mastering. I graduated to junior engineering roles there in 1975 and continued through to 1977 when a motorcycle crash stopped all my work for some time. By this stage I had also moved on to working as a professional touring musician therefore spending
less time in recording studios, but I still continued my freelance studio engineering work.
By the 1980s Clover had equipment upgrades and was rebranded as "The Record Mode Studios"( TRM )
My dad then sold this business to Peter Contini and Adrian Payne in 1983 and with further equipment upgrades the studio was called "Sun Studios Sydney" I did many recording sessions there right through the 1980s.
Over my years in my mixing mastering service I have delivered high-quality results for a range of clients, including notable artists such as:
"Slim Dusty", "Don Walker", "Anne Kirkpatrick","The Whitlams", "Felicity Urquhart", "Dean Perrett", "Sam McNally", "Jhal Du Paul", "50 Million Beers","Spy v Spy", "Lynda Manwaring", and many more.
